With 8 years of post-MDS experience, Dr. Nikunj Makwana is an experienced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon specializing in Head & Neck Oncosurgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, and Implant-based Rehabilitation. He is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred surgical care with a strong focus on cancer treatment, functional restoration, facial reconstruction, and long-term rehabilitation.
Dr. Makwana completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Government Dental College, Jamnagar, followed by his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, including a three-year residency. He has also received advanced exposure in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology through clinical observerships at GCRI and HCG Cancer Center, Ahmedabad, and pursued a Fellowship in Head & Neck Oncosurgery at JNMC, KLE, Belagavi.
With over 5,000 maxillofacial surgical procedures and approximately 1,000+ dental implant procedures, his clinical expertise spans head & neck and oral cancer surgery, maxillofacial and facial trauma, jaw fractures, facial and jaw swellings and tumours, salivary gland surgery, TMJ disorders, reconstructive and microvascular surgery, and implant-based rehabilitation. Dr. Priyank V. Rathod is an Onco-Surgeon specializing in Head & Neck, Oral, Thyroid, and Larynx cancer surgery. He holds an M.S. in Oto-Rhino-Laryngology from NHL Medical College and Smt. S.C.L. Hospital, Ahmedabad, and a M.Ch. in Head & Neck Oncosurgery from Amrita Institute of Medical Science (AIMS), Kochi.
He has received advanced training in skull base and robotic minimally invasive surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, along with further Head & Neck cancer surgery training at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has also completed a fellowship at Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI), Ahmedabad, and has served as an Ex-Consultant at GCRI Ahmedabad.
With experience in complex head and neck oncology, Dr. Rathod has performed approximately 5,000 or more oral, thyroid, and larynx cancer surgeries and has treated approximately 20,000 patients with head and neck cancer.
